This week podcast hosts Alex Aldridge and Kevin Poulter are joined by Daniela Valdez, an LLB student at Birkbeck University who decided to re-train as a lawyer after several years working in insurance.

Valdez’s capacity for hard work – she’s working full-time as a paralegal while completing her degree over three years – wows the usually hard-to-impress Poulter, who wishes more wannabe lawyers showed such grit.

Having discussed the pros and cons of Valdez’s route into law, the trio move on to trade views on the topical issue of lawyers with tattoos. “Fine if you keep them out of sight,” is the verdict issued by new best buddies Poulter and Valdez.
