Dinah Rose QC to Barrister Hottie Experts: ‘Keep me out of your bloody lists’

Dinah Rose QC has moved to prevent her inclusion in the 2014 Barrister Hottie List by issuing a “keep me out” plea to the authors of the controversial rankings.

After joining Twitter last week, one of the first acts of the top human rights silk on the social network was to warn ‘Barrister Hottie Experts’ Sonia Van Gilder Cooke and Natalia Naish to “keep me out of your bloody lists”.

With the male edition of the 2014 Barrister Hottie List set to be released on Wednesday, and the women’s edition to follow later this summer, speculation is swirling legal London about who will be deemed the Inns of Court’s hottest.

Since last year — when 39 Essex Street’s Patrick Hennessey was crowned hottest male barrister and Doughty Street’s Amal Alamuddin hottest female barrister in the inaugural hottie rankings — members of the bar have been pouring onto social media in a bid to raise their profiles.

Particularly eye-catching has been the arrival on Twitter of former director of public prosecutions Keir Starmer QC.

The ex-Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) chief wasn’t considered for the 2013 Hottie List because he wasn’t practising as a barrister at the time. But his return to Doughty Street has made Starmer — whose boyish looks and hipster haircut thrill admirers — a strong contender for a place this time around.

Good luck to the nation’s barristers hoping for a place in this year’s list. Who knows, a Hollywood star in the market for a top lawyer spouse may be reading…
