McSporrans defence lawyers — no seriously

A criminal defence firm based in Edinburgh may have just secured the coveted title of ‘most Scottish law firm ever’.

McSporrans — no we have haven’t made that up — appears to have named itself after a piece of traditional Scottish dress.

Tweeting an image of the firm’s office earlier today, writer Alice White described it as “the most Scottish thing”.

The sporran — which is essentially a small furry handbag that hangs in front of the kilt — is commonly seen at English weddings.

Adding “Mc” for good measure, the law firm’s modest offices are even painted in the blue and white of Scotland’s flag, the Saltire.
