Noooooooooo!

Nooo-crop

Pity the poor University of Law students whose subscriptions to legal database Practical Law Company (PLC) expired on New Year’s Eve and did not auto-renew.

With essays due in four days later, and no staff available to respond to the problem, the students were pretty mad — and began emailing Legal Cheek this screenshot and their accompanying tales of woe.

plc

Keen to be of assistance, we got in touch with ULaw to find out what was going on. Europe’s largest law school told us that the fault was with PLC, issuing this statement:

PLC have informed us that there was a glitch with their system on the 1st January which, because of the Bank Holiday, they were unable to fix immediately. We can confirm that our subscription with them remains current.

Essay deadlines have apparently been extended.
