Foul smell is “beyond our control”, say court staff
Coventry Magistrates’ Court staff and lawyers are clashing over smelly interview rooms.
Kicking up a stink, lawyers raised the odour issue with Mags’ management — who in typical bureaucratic fashion hastily made a poster (a photo of which was promptly leaked to Legal Cheek).
Placed in the advocates’ room, it informs lawyers that a “cells supervisor” was brought in to offer their expert opinion.
Confirming that the interview rooms were “adequately clean”, the notice suggests that the smell relates to something beyond the court’s “control”.
