Does reality match the stereotype?
A final year University of Cambridge student has used her popular Instagram account to document what it’s really like to study at the elite law school.
Hephzibah, a student at Gonville and Caius College and future trainee at Clifford Chance, is the woman behind the popular @thecambridgebubble page, which offers its 7,300+ followers a “weekly overview” of life at the top university.
The 20-year-old’s account features insights into, for example, law society events, sport at university, food on campus and dealing with workload stress.
Hephzibah — who has completed work experience placements at Freshfields and Herbert Smith Freehills, among others — also uses the account to share her non-academic experiences of trying to make it as a lawyer. Take a look at her photos from the Clifford Chance vac scheme.

Speaking to Legal Cheek, Hephzibah explained she made the account to give prospective Cambridge applicants an insight into the university from a student’s perspective. She continued:
This was something I wished someone had done when I was applying. I also wanted to dispel the myth that Cambridge is just about working 24/7, hence why I also post about athletics, netball and so on.
Due to graduate in 2017, we asked the aspiring corporate lawyer what she’ll be doing with the account when she’s not longer in the Cambridge bubble herself, to which she responded:
I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with the account when I graduate but we’ll see, maybe something about life as a trainee…
