Your questions answered, as we wave goodbye to the LPC and GDL

Yesterday, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) confirmed it will be scrapping the traditional route to qualification as a solicitor in favour of a new super-exam.

Spelling the end for both the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), the regulator revealed that the super-exam — or Solicitors Qualification Examination (SQE), to give it its official title — could be rolled out as early as September 2020.

Sending shockwaves through the law student community, our news story on the topic racked up almost 40,000 views in 24 hours and triggered a flood of comments and queries from readers.

In our latest live Facebook broadcast, Legal Cheek’s Katie King and Tom Connelly discuss some of your biggest concerns.
