Gardening, ping pong and trips to Paris

Summer vac scheme season is upon us, which means it’s time for firms to give budding lawyers a chance to experience legal practice first-hand by, erm, doing lots of random stuff which has absolutely nothing to do with law.

Last summer, there were trips to Brussels courtesy of Slaughter and May, games of crazy golf for the Freshfields lot and powerboat rides at Hogan Lovells and Linklaters.

But what have this year’s bunch of happy vac schemers been up to that’s totally not law-related? We count down 12 highlights.

1. Play ping pong over some drinks

2. Go to Paris

3. Trim bushes

4. Go for a walk

5. Eat mammoth scoops of ice cream

6. Play rounders while holding a plate of food or a beer

7. Go to Paris… again

8. Roll dough at Pizza Express

9. Do some clue-based team building

10. Eat by candlelight wearing a chef’s hat

11. Eat sushi while posing with an ASOS order

12. Go to a painting masterclass
