Legal pic of the day

Now this is how you strike, lawyers

To truly understand the difference between two cultures one must examine the methods which their lawyers use to protest.

While softly-softly English lawyers show their anger by taking to the picket lines in wigs, their more militant French cousins — who went on strike yesterday in front of a court building in Nantes to protest against government plans to reform their profession — pile up law books to create bunkers.

Presumably this is in preparation for some sort of violent attack on the French police, many of whom have probably already been tragically guillotined by now. But the absence of French speaker Judge John Hack from the Legal Cheek news desk this afternoon makes this impossible to verify.
