Woe betide any red light-jumping cyclist who encounters SonOfTheWinds, a YouTube phenomenon who spends his time patrolling the streets of London for bike-related road traffic infringements — and then posts videos of them online for all the world to see.

The best response to those caught on SonOfTheWinds’ camera? Probably not to issue a shaky legal threat which you follow up by revealing that you’re a lawyer.

In the clip — quick version above, full version below — the cyclist responds to SonOfTheWinds’ dogged pursuit of him thus: “You have to get consent to film me on that. That’s against data protection law,” before adding: “I’m a solicitor”.

A couple of minutes earlier, he had been filmed as the first of two cyclists to jump a red light.
