How many divorce paper wedding dresses could you make from a £1 million divorce?
In the week that a warring couple spent almost £1m on their divorce — prompting Mr Justice Mostyn to criticise the “grotesque leachings of costs” in marriage break-ups — it seems fitting to celebrate this striking divorce paper wedding dress.
16 year-old Demi Barnes made the dress using 1,500 legal documents from divorce cases as part of her GCSE art final assessment last summer. The teenager designed the dress to represent the notion that too many people rush into getting married and end up getting divorced.
After posting an image of her creation on Facebook it received over 40,000 likes in just one week.
