Veteran commercial lawyer Darryl Snider (pictured), who was once a senior litigation partner at the Los Angeles office of global behemoth Sherman & Sterling, has become an unlikely YouTube star after releasing a rap on YouTube.

The rap, entitled ‘Treat all women with respect’, was posted last week and has already had over 375,000 views and hundreds of comments.

In the accompanying video (embedded below), Snider, who appears wearing a black leather jacket and baseball cap, calls on anyone affected by domestic violence to try to turn their life around.

The corporate litigation specialist, who these days runs his own law firm, proceeds to encourage men to take responsibility, be it as a father, husband, boyfriend or son. As a carrot to love and provide for their child, Snider points out that the youngster may turn out to be the next Beyoncé.

The video was produced by ‘DaddyDaDa Productions’, a company which Snider set up as an extra alongside his lawyering. According to its website, DaddyDaDa “creates positive music addressing and raising awareness for various social and cultural issues of the day.”

However, despite the huge popularity of the video, some people aren’t convinced, with one YouTube commenter writing:

“I think this is my cue for leaving the internet for a day or two.”

Another questioned Snider’s rapping skills:

“You can’t argue that this isn’t a good message, its [sic] just sorta odd, hes [sic] not really rapping just more like talking”.

Despite the negative comments, the ageing lawyer appears undeterred and has already launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his next video, entitled ‘What on earth is happening?’.

The new track will also have an anti-domestic violence theme and “explore some basic questions about how we think, and how we treat our neighbors and friends in this day and age.”

According to the Kickstarter page, Snider requires $25,000 (£17,000), but so far he has only managed to secure a paltry $350 (£230).
