Join us on the afternoon of Wednesday 23 September for a virtual student event in partnership with BARBRI, exploring what the role of a trainee solicitor looks like in the age of artificial intelligence and how students can prepare for it.
As AI continues to reshape the legal industry, aspiring solicitors face a new kind of competition. It is no longer just about standing out to employers, but also about developing the judgement, adaptability and digital literacy needed to succeed in an increasingly AI-enabled profession.

This session will look at how AI is changing legal practice, what that could mean for the future of the trainee solicitor role, and which human skills are likely to remain most valuable in the years ahead.
We’ll be joined by a panel of BARBRI careers experts and AI professionals in the sector, who will share first-hand insights into how AI is already being used in practice, the opportunities and challenges it brings, and the skills they have found most useful as the profession evolves. They will also offer practical advice on how aspiring solicitors can put themselves in the strongest possible position to secure a training contract in the AI age.
The discussion will be followed by virtual networking with the speakers and members of BARBRI’s careers team, giving attendees the chance to ask questions, build connections and explore the realities of qualifying into an AI‑driven legal market.
