Creativity, innovation and the law – with Taylor Wessing

Tuesday 27 November at Taylor Wessing’s London headquarters

Lawyers talk about how they’re thinking differently, students ask the questions

On Tuesday 27 November Legal Cheek is partnering with Taylor Wessing for an evening of commercial awareness discussion and networking with its lawyers and graduate recruitment team at the firm’s London headquarters.

The focus of the session will be on creativity and innovation. Lawyers from Taylor Wessing’s technology, media and communications (TMC), corporate finance and employment teams will discuss how they are engaging creatively with technology and thinking differently to provide innovative solutions to clients.

Members of the firm’s innovation team will also be on hand to talk about wider strategy. The firm has long held the view that the biggest risk to its progress is not engaging with tech — hence its status as a forerunner to many of the developments that have been sweeping the legal profession lately. Indeed Taylor Wessing’s closeness to the tech scene is such that since 2011 it has been operating, in addition to its London HQ, a small office out of the Second Home workspace just off Brick Lane in Shoreditch, east London, while its Cambridge office has seen the firm develop close ties with top academics specialising in legal tech research. The firm has also been developing its own AI products internally through its ‘TW: navigate’ programme.

The discussion will also have a careers theme, with the opportunity for attendees to ask speakers for their advice about how make it into the profession and build careers at a time of change.

After the panel session, which is chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist and runs from 6pm, there will be drinks, nibbles and networking with the lawyers on the panel, trainees and members of Taylor Wessing’s graduate recruitment team.

Apply to attend below. You’ll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for the panel. Please note that the details of those offered places will, subject to consent, be shared with Taylor Wessing’s graduate recruitment team.
