Legal Cheek is coming to Bristol for the latest in its series of IN-PERSON Secrets to Success events – run in association with The University of Law (ULaw) – to help students boost their commercial awareness ahead of vacation schemes and training contract interviews.
The event takes place on Thursday 14 March at ULaw’s Bristol campus, and features lawyers from Osborne Clarke, TLT and Ashfords, alongside a careers expert from ULaw.

The speakers will share the secrets to their own success, telling the stories of their career journeys and advising students on how they can best position themselves to obtain training contracts with leading law firms. Also up for discussion will be the key commercial awareness topics that students need to have on their radar.

• Mark Braude, partner in the corporate & real estate tax team at TLT, and trainee principal for the firm’s Bristol office
• Ben Tarrant, partner in the real estate team at Ashfords
• Zoe King, campus dean for the University of Law Bristol
After the Question Time-style discussion, which will be chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist, there will be networking over drinks and snacks with the speakers, current trainees from the firms and members of their graduate recruitment teams. It’s a great opportunity not only to meet the firms but also to check out ULaw’s impressive Bristol campus, surrounded by global law firms in the heart of Bristol’s legal district.
