Your dream career has a lot to do with your personality

Regardless of your academic interest in the law, deciding what type of lawyer you want to be when you graduate can be tough.

You may have the solicitor/barrister distinction and your preference of the two down, but would you be better off in a top commercial outfit or a modest high street shop? Do you think the more personable nature of private client work appeals, or would you rather represent big companies and government departments? Would your brainpower be better served at the commercial bar or in a more social welfare-oriented area of law?

To help make this decision process easier to navigate, The University of Law (ULaw) has created a ‘What kind of lawyer should I be?’ Facebook quiz. In just a few clicks, students hoping to be part of the next generation of top lawyers can get a steer on the legal practice area best suited to their personality.

You’ll be asked how you like to spend your free time, about your favourite TV shows and your dream holiday — not whether you know the difference between a resulting and a constructive trust. Have a go on ULaw’s Facebook page.
