To promote brevity and succinctness, there is a strict 60-second limit per entry.
Entries must be substantially about the competition topic, which this year is US legal icons. If in doubt, please email us an outline of your idea in advance to team@legalcheek.com.
To be eligible to apply for the competition, you must be a law student, law graduate, trainee solicitor or junior associate. If in any doubt about your eligibility, please email team@legalcheek.com.
Legal Cheek’s editorial team will shortlist the top five entries, with the vlogs in this shortlist then passed on to an independent judging panel to decide the winner and two highly commended vlogs. These three entries will then be published on Legal Cheek (subject to consent).
The winner will be announced at BARBRI’s 4 July Independence Day party in London.
The competition prize is a free return flight to New York City. The competition prize has a maximum value of £500 and must be redeemed by December 2019.
The winner will be notified using the method they used to submit their entry (YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Google Drive or email) and receive his or her prize at the BARBRI Independence Day party.
In consideration of Legal Cheek and BARBRI providing the competition each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Legal Cheek and BARBRI to feature any or all of the entries in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition, without compensation.
