#RoundMyKitchenTable: Are Legal Bloggers Real Journalists?

Still reeling from the shock of not being included in The Independent‘s Twitter 100 list, top employment lawyer Kevin Poulter is consoled by Legal Cheek editor Alex Aldridge and journalist Rupert Collins-White (pictured right) of LegalSupportNetwork.

In a bid to take Poulter’s mind off this crushing blow, Aldridge and White talk social media – one of the crestfallen solicitor’s favourite topics. “Is Facebook dead? What’ll be the next big thing after Twitter? Will lawyers embrace Pinterest?” the pair wonder as Poulter mournfully sips a can of lager.

As the discussion moves onto the blurring line between legal bloggers and journalists, Poulter, who writes a column for LondonLovesBusiness, at last manages a wistful smile, and joins in a discussion about whether lawyers writing in their free time can deliver the same sort of impartial analysis as full-time journalists…
