The US criminal justice system is famous for its “perp pics” — police mug-shots of those arrested and charged with offences.
Just think of the renowned mug-shots of Hugh Grant following a tiny indiscretion nearly two decades ago on Sunset Boulevard. They are images that will probably outlive in the collective memory many of his film performances.
Now there’s a new player in the game. Meet Robert Burt from Pittsfield in Maine. He was nicked earlier this summer on a drink-driving charge. But he came prepared. Burt was wearing a t-shirt bearing the image of his previous mug-shot from another arrest and charge.
The 19-year-old American proudly made this image his Facebook profile picture; one imagines Grant would simply like to forget his. Sorry, Hugh.
