Casser le plafond verre
All right, it’s not exactly the anniversary (we’re a bit late) and a few weeks ago it wasn’t exactly a landmark anniversary, but nonetheless on 25 September it was 106 years since Hélène Miropolsky became the first woman barrister in Europe.
According to Twitter account @FeministPics, the French lawyer broke the gender barrier with an appearance at the cours d’assises. For good measure, we’ve included a shot of Ms Miropolsky actually appearing in court.
