International law firm King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has launched a charity cook book, titled ‘All Rise’, containing over 60 creative recipes produced by its lawyers.

Proceeds from sales of the book — that contains baking recipes from over 40 members of staff, including partners, associates and trainees — will be used to raise funds for the firm’s charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The professional looking recipe book was launched at the firm’s annual ‘Christmas Fayre’ last week and was inspired by a string of recent bake sales held at the outfit’s Thames-side offices.

From cupcakes to tray bakes, from loafs to whole cakes, all the sugary-based treats were designed and styled by members of the firm, and then photographed in-house by KWM’s ‘creative services’ team.

And the contributions had an international flavour. Drawing upon its 30 offices worldwide, the firm was able to bring together Mary Berry-loving lawyers from across Europe and the Middle East to divulge their baking secrets.

Having received over 100 pre-orders before the book had even launched, the firm has a sales target of £5,000. With ‘All Rise’ available internally at £10 a pop, there are going to be a few portly lawyers plodding round KWM’s offices come the New Year.

The aptly named William Boss, KWM’s managing partner of Europe and Middle East, said:

The response to the creation of ‘All Rise’ across the firm has been incredible and we’re grateful for the time and efforts of everyone involved in the creation of this superb book. We are very proud of our partnership with Macmillan and hope that sales of the book prove hugely successful.
