A top junior barrister has appeared in court represented by his brother, to deny allegations he supplied drugs at a party at which his 18 year-old boyfriend died.
Henry Hendron — represented by his twin brother, and fellow Strand Chambers’ tenant Richard Hendron — was first arrested back in January 2015, after his boyfriend Miguel Jimenez died of an overdose at his Temple flat.
Henry, 35, appearing in court seven of the Old Bailey yesterday, denied two counts of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs, two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and two counts of possession of controlled drugs.
According to the Mail Online, a number of drugs were discovered at Hendron’s flat, later identified as ‘meow meow’, GHB and GBL.
Hendron was represented by his brother Richard, who — according to his chambers’ website — is an “expert” in criminal defence work.
Richard himself hit headlines last month when he quit the UK Independence Party (UKIP), after someone he described as a “vile homophobe” was put forward for election. In an open letter posted to Facebook, the former policeman said UKIP was “becoming even more small-minded”.
According to the Mail Online, Hendron’s co-accused, Alexander Parkin — who is a BBC executive producer — stood alongside the Strand Chambers’ barrister in the dock. Admitting to supplying a Class B and Class C drug, Parkin will be sentenced pending probation reports.
