One aspiring lawyer harbours concerns that a lack of A-levels will hinder his legal career
In the latest instalment in our Career Conundrums series, one law student is worried that his decision to take a BTEC instead of A-levels will prevent him from bagging a training contract.
I am currently 22-years-old and I work full time in exports, and am studying my LLB with the Open University. I am looking to graduate in 2018 (2:1 level) all things being well and am currently looking at applying for training contracts and vacation schemes. The only issue is I took a BTEC at college level as I wasn’t really sure which way I wanted to go in my career but I only scored a merit and pass. Do I still have a chance at securing a training contract at all? Or should I give up?
