How to build an international career at a global law firm in London — with Latham & Watkins, Skadden, Slaughter and May and BARBRI

Thursday 21 January, 4pm to 6pm, taking place virtually

At Legal Cheek’s latest virtual event we’ll be hearing from leading lawyers who have built international legal careers in London.

Speakers from Latham & Watkins, Skadden, and Slaughter and May will look back on their career journeys to date and share advice with students hoping to follow a similar path.

They will also consider the future of the global legal market at a time when no one is quite sure how the world will look after the Covid-19 vaccine has been rolled out.

Date: Thursday 21 January
Time: 4pm to 6pm
Location: Virtual event
Level: Students, Graduates

Joining them will be a legal education expert from BARBRI, the legal education provider that offers a wide range of global legal qualifications as well as preparation courses for the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). The session will be chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist.

The speakers

  • Richard Youle, partner and co-head of the private equity group at Skadden
  • David Little, partner in the antitrust and competition practice group at Latham & Watkins
  • Catriona Jardine, associate in the dispute resolution team at Slaughter and May
  • Chris Jorgenson, director of institutional partnerships at BARBRI

After the panel discussion there will be virtual networking with the speakers and representatives from their firms.

This event is open to students, trainees and junior lawyers. Apply to attend.
