New ways to qualify as a solicitor — with speakers from Linklaters, ITV and BARBRI

Wednesday 5 July, 4pm to 6pm, taking place virtually

Join us on the afternoon of Wednesday 5 July for a virtual student event, run in partnership with BARBRI, which will explain how you can use the SQE to your advantage. The new regime has increased the accessibility of qualification and created new opportunities for aspiring lawyers, empowering students to take their future legal careers into their own hands.

We’ll be joined by a BARBRI careers expert, as well as a speaker from a City law firm, an in-house lawyer working for a legal team at a large company, and a solicitor at a high street firm to hear about the opportunities that the new qualification route has opened up in their respective fields.

Date: Wednesday 5 July 2023
Time: 4pm to 6pm
Location: Virtual event
Level: Students, Graduates

The speakers

Camilla Brignall, manager in the learning and development team at Linklaters, who was previously a solicitor at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s legacy firm Berwin Leighton Paisner
Holly Moore, in-house brand protection lawyer at ITV, who qualified through the SQE route and was the first in-house solicitor apprentice in the UK
Seema Gill, commercial property solicitor at Howell-Jones LLP, and the SQE representative and treasurer for Surrey Junior Lawyers Division
Robert Dudley, head of employability & engagement at BARBRI

The virtual event kicks off with a panel discussion with the speakers from 4-5pm, followed by virtual networking with BARBRI’s SQE team until 6pm.

Apply to attend. You’ll be asked to submit two questions for the speakers.
