Court canteen jokers battle for passing trade
Legal Cheek has reported on the poor quality of court building canteens on several occasions over the past few months. From the poor quality of food to the confusing meal deals on offer, most fail to meet the expectations of the lawyers who frequent them.
However the owners of the ‘Court Cafe’, situated on the first floor of Southend Magistrates Court, reckon what they offer is good enough to compete with the high street — and are trying drum up passing street trade from non-lawyer punters. Their gag-filled billboard is pictured above.
It might not be everyone’s first choice for a spot of lunch but where else can you watch a trial and order a BLT all under one roof …? Legal Cheek wonders if customers have to go through security?
