Interview: Glamour model and law student Vanessa Knowles on her quest to bag a training contract

In autumn we reported on the glamour model who has used an Amazon Wishlist, and some rather racy photos, to fund the cost of her law textbooks as she completes an LLB.

While admiring Vanessa Knowles’ entrepreneurship, we also expressed concern at how law firms would respond to such a daring approach.

So it was with interest that we welcomed Knowles to the Legal Cheek podcast…

Bored of the adult industry, Knowles embarked on a law degree at a well known London university two years ago, and is currently preparing to apply for training contracts with a view to doing the Legal Practice Course (LPC) next year.

She is particularly interested in feminist legal theory, and is writing her dissertation about the Equality Act and the correlation between domestic violence and pornography — about which she is sceptical.

Acknowledging that some traditional City law firms would probably “have a heart attack” at her glamour modelling background, Knowles is focusing her training contract hunt on the quirkier field of entertainment law, although she is keeping an open mind.
