It would appear that a professional stock image model has forsaken a career of glitz and glamour in favour of a life in the mundane world of legal recruitment.

Dawn Ellmore Employment, a patent and trademark recruitment firm based in Holborn, London, seems to be the destination of choice for former model ‘Josephine Allan’.

A quick glance at Allan’s profile on Dawn Ellmore Employment’s website shows a consummate professional. The personal bio trumpets Allan’s ability to go the “extra mile” and treat every client with “great care and attention”.

Allan’s LinkedIn profile is as equally impressive. Once again promoting her expertise in the legal recruitment field, it also reveals a softer side to Allan, who enjoys the “theatre” and “long walks” with her dog “Oscar”.

But Allan clearly can’t let go of her modelling past. A quick search on stock footage website Shuttershock — using key phrases such as “women business posture” — throws up the exact headshot used to accompany Allan’s legal recruiter bio.

After Legal Cheek contacted Dawn Ellmore Employment — and Allan personally — the entire “meet the team” section of the company’s website mysteriously vanished.

With Allan remaining tight-lipped, a spokeswoman for the firm issued this statement:

This matter forms part of an investigation and legal steps we are undertaking following the departure of a former employee. While the investigation continues, we have suspended the ‘Meet the Team’ section of the website, and I’m afraid we are unable to comment.

No closer to solving the mystery, we found some more shots of Allan seemingly taking the legal recruitment world by storm:

But it’s not all work and no play for Allan…

Legal Cheek made one final attempt to contact Allan by calling the number listed on her profile. This resulted in a receptionist telling us that “they are in a meeting”. Despite leaving our number, Allan has failed to get back to us.
