It seems the inspirational drag queen has some tips for budding solicitors and barristers

The legal Twitterati was out in force this morning giving advice to aspiring lawyers, using the ever-inspiring words of world famous drag queen and living legend Ru Paul.

The bizarre and brilliant series of events was kicked off by Steven Vaughan. A University of Birmingham law professor, a former commercial lawyer and — judging by his timeline — a proud fan of Ru Paul’s TV show Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Vaughan began his day by reflecting on the advice he was planning to give his final year students today.

Presumably a Drag Race fan herself, Blackstone Chambers barrister Dinah Rose QC interjected with a couple of suggestions.

But — according to Vaughan — the title of one of Ru Paul’s most famous songs may well have its place in the life of a commercial lawyer.

And legal commentator and media lawyer David Allen Green couldn’t resist getting involved in the Ru Paul-based fun.

To which Vaughan was more than happy to respond.

Legal Cheek is beyond thrilled that this ever happened.
