20 year-old could face lengthy spell behind bars if found guilty
A University of Gloucestershire law student has been charged with attempted murder after a knife attack on a Megabus.
Mulazim Khan — who appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court yesterday — is accused of attacking a fellow passenger on the popular budget bus service.
According to local newspaper the Gloucestershire Echo, the 28 year-old unnamed victim suffered “stab wounds” to both his chin and face, and remains in a stable condition at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The attacker then fled the scene.
The stabbing took place place on Easter Sunday at around 4pm, as the double-decker bus was parked outside Royal Well bus station in Cheltenham town, destined for London.
The young law student, who is married, appeared at Cheltenham Mags wearing a grey T-shirt, and only spoke to confirm his name address and date of birth. Khan also faces a further charge of possessing a bladed article in a public place.
Khan — who was remanded in custody — will appear at Gloucester Crown Court on April 29.
