How law firms ride the economic cycle — with Weil

Thursday 15 September, 4pm to 6pm, taking place virtually

Join us on the afternoon of Thursday 15 September for a virtual student event with the London office of leading US law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

The session will explore how law firms ride the economic cycle, with well-hedged firms like Weil leading the way in highly active transactional markets as well as performing strongly during periods of distress through its top-rated restructuring team.

Date: Thursday 15 September 2022
Time: 4pm to 6pm
Location: Virtual event
Level: Students, Graduates

Partner Neil Devaney will deliver a talk sharing his reflections on economic cycles going back from today until the 1980s, while associate Fergus Kent will reflect on his experiences working at Weil.

There will then be an audience Q&A, with both of the speakers and trainee associate Asha Phakey, reflecting on their career journeys to date and advising students on how they can follow a similar path.

After this there will be virtual networking with the speakers, other members of the private equity and restructuring teams, Weil trainees and members of the firm’s graduate recruitment team.

Apply to attend. You’ll be asked to submit two questions for the firm.
