BPP careers expert and a trainee solicitor walk you through the process
Vacation scheme and training contract applications remain one of the most competitive hurdles for aspiring solicitors, with many students struggling to showcase their strengths effectively in written responses.
At a recent virtual masterclass delivered in partnership with BPP University Law School, attendees were given practical guidance on how to elevate their applications by focusing on clarity, structure and meaningful content.
Led by BPP’s legal careers manager, Steve Bloomer, and future trainee solicitor Rebecca Hamer, the session provided a behind-the-scenes look at what law firms are really looking for. Bloomer drew on his extensive careers expertise to break down how candidates can craft responses that stand out for all the right reasons, while Hamer shared insights from her own successful application journey and current experience as an SQE student.
Students also had the chance to explore real examples, refine their answers, and ask questions directly to the speakers, gaining actionable tips to strengthen their future submissions.
